Local Stakeholders' Convergence 2024

Local Stakeholders' Convergence 2024 L' Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City  April 24, 2024 This year marks my third time attending the DepEd Division's Stakeholders' Convergence —an event that continues to inspire and ignite hope in the future of our education system. More than a gathering, this convergence is a celebration of collaboration and shared responsibility . It reminds us that building a brighter future for our learners is not the work of a single institution—it’s a collective mission. From individuals to organizations, small businesses to large corporations, we come together with one common goal: to create an environment where students can thrive and educators can teach with dignity and purpose. Yes, it is true that the government holds the primary responsibility for providing quality education. But as stakeholders, our role is to enhance, support, and strengthen what is already being built. We are here not to replace the system, but to uplift it—to fill in the ga...

Party with the Younger Sibs

Party with the Younger Sibs Portiko Café | Green Garden  April 19, 2024 Still rolling with Manang Jel (suki ka na talaga dito, kimi!)—this time for a night that turned into one for the books. The event was hosted by her college, the College of Business and Accountancy , and of course, we couldn’t miss it. But before the actual party started, we warmed up at Portiko Café —where dinner and just enough beer had us feeling a little too tipsy even before arriving at the main venue. With us were our younger siblings, Jero and Chezka . Initially, they weren’t allowed in because they’re underage (oops!), but luckily, I knew someone on the inside who helped us out. So yes, they got in. Don't worry—we made sure they stayed safe and taken care of throughout the night. While we were eating dinner, we were also glued to Manang Jel’s phone, watching a live pageant because one of her classmates was a contestant. The thrill was real—cheers, nervous squeals, and hopeful claps every t...

A Long Day of Work and a Simple Reward

Image
A Long Day of Work and a Simple Reward Megaworld, Bacolod City April 11, 2024 Today was one of those long, nonstop hustle days—the kind where your body moves on autopilot while your brain is trying to catch up. The agenda was packed: deliveries to complete, items to purchase, and canvassing to do across different locations. It was draining, to say the least—but also fulfilling in its own way. Every task ticked off the list brought a small sense of accomplishment, even if it came with aching feet and a tired back. I definitely couldn’t have gotten through it all without Manong Hynes , our ever-reliable driver. He made sure we moved from one place to another safely and smoothly, even with the heavy traffic and back-to-back errands. No complaints, just quiet patience and consistent support the whole day. I really appreciate how he stays steady even when the day is anything but. And of course, a big thank you to Tita Grace , who helped me carry the load—literally and emotionally. Fro...

Healing in Little Ways

Healing in Little Ways Spa Alhambra, Bacolod City (Mandalagan Branch) April 8, 2024 Today, we gave our bodies and minds what they’ve long been asking for—a moment to breathe, a chance to rest, and the comforting silence of a massage room. It was one of those days when everything felt heavy. Not just physically, but mentally too. My thoughts had been loud lately—restless, noisy, and relentless. So when Manang Jel asked if I could drive us to get a massage, I knew deep down it wasn’t just about easing back pain. It was her way of showing up for me—again. Manang Jel isn't my sister by blood, but she has always been my Ate in spirit. She’s my cousin on my dad’s side, but more than that, she’s been my go-to person—my human diary. The kind who listens when I pour out every thought I swore I’d keep to myself. The kind who doesn’t hesitate to call me out when I start heading in the wrong direction. She’s been there for the breakdowns I saw coming, and even more so for the ones I tried ...
