Party with the Younger Sibs

Portiko Café | Green Garden

April 19, 2024

Still rolling with Manang Jel (suki ka na talaga dito, kimi!)—this time for a night that turned into one for the books. The event was hosted by her college, the College of Business and Accountancy, and of course, we couldn’t miss it. But before the actual party started, we warmed up at Portiko Café—where dinner and just enough beer had us feeling a little too tipsy even before arriving at the main venue. With us were our younger siblings, Jero and Chezka.

Initially, they weren’t allowed in because they’re underage (oops!), but luckily, I knew someone on the inside who helped us out. So yes, they got in. Don't worry—we made sure they stayed safe and taken care of throughout the night.

While we were eating dinner, we were also glued to Manang Jel’s phone, watching a live pageant because one of her classmates was a contestant. The thrill was real—cheers, nervous squeals, and hopeful claps every time she appeared on screen. Spoiler alert: she won! It felt like we were part of her victory even from a distance.

When we got to the main party at Green Garden, we were welcomed by Manang Jel’s friends. I even spotted some familiar faces—people I shared memories with back in my La Salle days. It was a whole night of catch-ups, spontaneous dancing, singing our hearts out, and of course... the less glamorous side of partying: bathroom breaks, hangovers, and some not-so-cute vomiting moments. But hey, it’s part of the story, right?

Messy? A little.
Chaotic? Absolutely.
Unforgettable? Without a doubt.

These are the kind of nights we’ll laugh about for years to come. It was fun while it lasted—and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
