The day started slow, nothing particularly noteworthy—until the night crept in and filled my evening with unexpected moments and memories I didn’t know I needed.
Even though my ex and I had already gone our separate ways, he invited me to dinner with his family at Lanai to celebrate his aunt’s birthday. He picked me up from my ballet studio after class, along with his siblings, and we swung by CityMall-Goldenfield to pick up a cake—I didn’t want to show up empty-handed.
As always, his family was warm and welcoming. We sang birthday songs, caught up over dinner, and snapped a few photos (which I’ll keep private for now). It was a light and heartfelt evening, and I truly hope Tita Michelle felt celebrated—because I did have fun being with them again, even in this new, unfamiliar context.
After dinner, my ex dropped me off at Seda Hotel, where I waited for my cousins who were arriving from Bago and Iloilo. While waiting, I was unexpectedly offered a free drink from the bar—apparently, they serve complimentary drinks to women on Friday nights. That was a sweet little surprise!
Once my cousins arrived, my ex said his goodbyes, and we grabbed a few snacks before heading to McDo Lacson to meet up with Manang Issa from Iloilo, who hadn’t eaten dinner yet.
We capped off the night at La Jefa—our party destination. It was such a vibrant evening: the lights, the music, the laughter, the dancing… but most importantly, the company I had made it all feel even more special. My heart is full.
caught in the act! HAHAHA
