Wisdom Over Lunch
Wisdom Over Lunch
El Ideal | Gracia's Restorante | Calea Pastries & Coffee
December 16, 2024
Today was a slow but productive Monday. I started the morning with a bit of work at the office before delegating tasks to my team so I could attend a scheduled lunch with Auntie Stella, a seasoned businesswoman, and Tito Noel, a retired Philippine Navy officer.
By 10:30 AM, I was getting ready for the day’s highlight. We met at El Ideal in Silay City, where they enjoyed a light brunch of batchoy and toasted bread after visiting a few historical churches with Lolo Brian. Once they finished, we drove straight to Gracias—a favorite dining spot I had reserved in advance.
On the way, Auntie Stella rode with me, while Tito Noel joined Lolo Brian and his driver. There’s truly never a dull moment with Auntie Stella. She generously shared stories of her youth, her business journey, and her personal philosophies that shaped her success and happiness. It was a lunch date filled not just with delicious food, but with wisdom and laughter.
Gracias, as always, didn’t disappoint. While the table talk began with business, it smoothly transitioned into some military conversation, which I admittedly could only follow halfway through—some of the terms were unfamiliar, but still interesting to hear.
We wrapped up around 2:30 PM and headed to Calea for dessert and a bit of pasalubong shopping for their friends in Manila.
It was one of those unhurried, fulfilling days where food, company, and stories blended perfectly—leaving my heart full and my mind inspired.
