Cheering for Chenna: A Champion's Moment

Cheering for Chenna: A Champion's Moment

Proud is honestly an understatement!

I used to laugh at my mom for how loud she got during my own dance competitions—but now? I totally get it. I was that sister—cheering my lungs out for my youngest, Chenna. She's always been passionate about dancing, but lately, I’ve seen something deeper in her—confidence, growth, and that fire to perform. And it paid off!

This year, their house—House of Cody—was crowned Cheer Dance 2024 Champion! They outperformed even the older batches, not because of bias, but because their routine was clean, well-executed, and full of discipline and heart. Watching her on stage, I couldn’t help but tear up a little. I saw not just my sister, but a young woman flourishing in her element.

While she and her teammates were in the chapel praying after the competition, I snuck off to buy her a bouquet—something to celebrate all the effort she poured into weeks of intense training. She earned every petal of that bouquet.

To my Chennaboo,
Manang loves you so much. I’ll always be here cheering you on—whether you’re on stage, in school, or figuring out what comes next in life. I believe in you always. 💛
